Meet the Bakewell Team

Mrs Sue Beckett

Executive Headteacher

My favourite children’s book as a child was ‘The Enchanted Wood’ by Enid Blyton. I loved the magical adventures and funny characters. I remember crying when I finished this book as I didn’t want it to end, so it was marked the time I became a reader.

In my spare time, I love being outdoors: walking my naughty sausage dog Joey and running in the amazing countryside that surrounds us.

I love working in school because it helps me to see the world as children do: to delight in the joy of new experiences and enjoy good friendships.

Mr Peter Aanonson

Head of School

My favourite children’s book is ‘The Dark’ by Lemony Snicket. I love how the book develops the scene and makes you really worry about Laszlo. It describes every child's fear of the dark. Every time I read it with a class I love how scared we all get while never wanting to put it down.

In my spare time, I enjoy walking with my wife, fencing and playing tennis with my son. I also have a pet tortoise called Billy.

I especially enjoy watching children learn and develop at school. It is always amazing to see how quickly amazing children grow.

Miss Lucy Rigley

Year 1 and 2 Class Teacher

Hello, my name is Miss Rigley. My favourite hobbies are completing jigsaws, playing the flute and reading books. One of my favourite children’s books is ‘Peace at Last’ by Jill Murphy. This was the first book I read completely on my own as a child and I still love to read it to this day! My favourite subject in school is Art because I love exploring with different materials and getting messy (particularly with glitter)! My favourite animal is a giraffe. I love how soft they are and how long their tongues get when they see food!

Mrs Adriana Wilkinson

Class Teacher in both KS1 and Reception

I have worked in Bakewell Infants since 2007. In my spare time I go for lots of adventure walks with my husband and two sons. To relax I enjoy reading and I don't mind if it is in Polish or English. My favourite children's book is "What the ladybird heard" by Julia Donaldson. At school I used to like maths and have always loved learning about animals. My favourite one is a giraffe. But most of all I love sitting snuggled in my favourite blanket and eating chocolate

Mrs Bev Bagshaw

Teaching Assistant and Lunchtime Leader

My favourite children’s book : When I was growing up my favourite book was The Magic Faraway Tree by Enid Blyton. But my favourite children's book of all time would have to be Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone by JK Rowling, as that's where these fantastic stories began.

In my spare time I like to play board games and watch films with my family and friends. What I enjoy doing: I enjoy anything involving arts or crafts, reading books and anything to do with the legend of Robin Hood.

Everyone who knows me knows my favourite subjects are Art and Design. I love to visit the coast and smell the sea air. My favourite animal would have to be our ginger and white cat, Elvis. I also find Sea Turtles fascinating.
