Wrap around care update letter
Dear Parents and Carers,
Bakewell Infant School and Bakewell Methodist Junior School
We are really proud of our high-quality wraparound care provision here at Bakewell schools, and we will continue to work in partnership to improve it further and make it sustainable in the longer term.
We understand that parents need adequate care in the morning and in the evening and that many parents drop off and collect at both schools.
From Monday,8th January, the breakfast club will move to Bakewell Methodist Junior School and will continue to cost of £4. Children can be dropped off at breakfast club from 7:30am and will be given a light breakfast and supervised by junior school staff. Junior children will go out to join their friends at 8.30am and infant children will be walked to their school to start at 8.45am. Children will sometimes be supervised by only one member of staff for short periods of time.
The after-school club will once again be held at the junior school. At the end of the infant school day at 3.15pm, infant children who are attending after-school club will be walked up to the juniors by a member of the junior school staff. This person will carry a phone, a first aid kit and have a pediatric first aid qualification. The children will then be welcomed into the junior school, where they will join the junior children and have a well-earned, healthy snack. They will be able to join in our after-school activities if they wish, and other fun activities will be provided by our club leaders.
We understand that infant children enjoy after school activities at their own school, and they will be able to continue to do so, but these children would not be able to attend after school care at the junior school as there would not be a member of staff available to get them there.
For each after-school club session, the charge will be £8.00 per session, which enables your child to be collected anytime up to 5.30pm. The children are to be collected from the main entrance of Bakewell Methodist Junior school.
To book, please see information in the ‘Wrap Around Care’ section of our website. Places will be booked directly with Mrs. Jenkins at Bakewell Methodist Juniors, so please contact her on email@example.com for a booking form for the Spring Term.
We look forward to working in partnership as two schools with the same values to provide the best educational experiences for our children, during the school day and beyond.
