Attendance

It is really important that children attend school as much as possible. We aim for at least 96% attendance throughout the year.

If your child is ill and unable to attend school, please contact the school before 9.10 a.m. on the first day of absence. Please send in a letter or inform the class teacher in advance if your child needs to be absent from school for appointments to see their doctor, dentist or any hospital visits that cannot be taken out of school time. We will call you if your child has not arrived by 9.30am and there has been no explanation given.

If your child arrives after 9am they will receive a late mark.
If your child has not arrived by 9.10am they will be marked absent unless a reason has been given.

The DfE regulations state that no holiday may be taken in school time, unless there are exceptional circumstances. Where this is the case, please fill in a Holiday Authorisation Form which will need to be checked and cleared by the Head Teacher at least 2 weeks in advance. Where more holidays are taken without authorisation, fixed penalty notices can now be issued to parents. This is now County policy.

Children also need to learn to be punctual. School starts at 8.50am and teaching starts at 9.00am prompt.

We also ask that you collect your children on time at 3.10pm. if you are aware you are running late, please call to let us know.
