Attendance

It is really important that children attend school as much as possible. We aim for at least 96% attendance throughout the year.

If your child is ill and unable to attend school, please contact the school office before 9.00 a.m. on the first day of absence. Please inform the school in advance if your child needs to be absent from school for appointments to see their doctor, dentist or any hospital visits that cannot be taken out of school time. We will call you if your child has not arrived by 9.20am and there has been no explanation given.

If your child arrives after 8.55am they will receive a late mark.

If your child has not arrived by 9.05am they will be marked absent unless a reason has been given.  If your child arrives subsequently arrives, they will be marked as present, but this is still recorded as an unauthorised absence if a valid reasons cannot be provided.

Children also need to learn to be punctual. School starts at 8.45am and teaching starts  promptly.

We also ask that you collect your children on time at 3.15pm. if you are aware you are running late, please call to let us know.

Leave of Absence requests during term time

The DfE regulations state that no holiday may be taken in school time, unless there are exceptional circumstances. Where this is the case, please fill in a Leave of Absence Request, preferably, at least two weeks in advance.  You request will checked and cleared by the Head Teacher.   Where more holidays are taken without authorisation, fixed penalty notices may be issued to parents.
